Read slowly: Acts 1:6–8. Notice what Jesus gives His disciples when He does not give them a timetable.
They ask whether He will restore the kingdom to Israel now. Jesus tells them that the timing belongs to the Father. Then He promises the Holy Spirit and gives them their responsibility as witnesses.
The disciples leave with an unanswered question and a clear next step. Their calling does not depend on knowing how every part of the future will unfold. They can trust the Father with what remains beyond their knowledge.
We do not share every detail of the apostles' particular assignment, but we recognize the temptation to postpone faithfulness until uncertainty disappears. A family concern, an unresolved decision, or a long wait can occupy so much attention that an available act of love goes undone. We may still be able to tell the truth, keep a commitment, ask for help, or pray with someone.
The next step does not solve the whole situation. It gives our trust a practical expression today.
Ponder: What faithful action is available while I wait for something I cannot yet know?
Practice: Complete these two sentences: “I do not yet know…” and “Today I can…” Choose one response in the second sentence that fits Jesus's teaching.
Carry This with You: You can entrust the unanswered part to God and take the next faithful step.
Prayer: Father, quiet my demand to know everything first. Help me trust Your care and attend to the good You have placed before me today. Amen.
