Read slowly: Acts 24:24–27. Notice Felix's response when Paul's words become personally searching.
Felix hears about faith in Jesus, righteousness, self-control, and coming judgment. He becomes alarmed and sends Paul away until another opportunity. Luke also reveals that he hopes to receive money from the prisoner.
The governor keeps returning to the conversation while preserving the motive it should challenge. Hearing more does not necessarily mean he is moving toward obedience. His delay eventually costs Paul two further years of confinement.
We can recognize a smaller version of that pattern in ourselves. A clear responsibility feels inconvenient, so we seek more time, more discussion, or a better emotional moment. Sometimes reflection is needed. At other times, the next right action is already clear and we are protecting the comfort that postponement provides.
God's word addresses real choices. The question is not only whether we have felt moved or troubled by it, but whether we are willing to respond where its claim touches our conduct.
A modest act of obedience today may be more honest than another promise to deal with the matter later.
Ponder: Is there a clear responsibility I keep postponing because it asks something uncomfortable of me?
Practice: Identify the first reasonable step and give it a place in today's plans. Begin with that step rather than waiting to feel completely ready.

Prayer: Lord, expose the excuses hidden inside my delays. Give me courage to act on what I understand and patience for what still needs discernment. Amen.
