A feast is ready, a coin is examined, and two commands gather the life God asks of us. The chapter brings belief into the use of our attention, loyalties, and everyday care. Choose one practice for today; return to the others when useful.

Make Room for the Invitation
Scripture: Matthew 22:1–14.
Some invited guests go back to their farm or business. Their work becomes the reason they do not come to the king's celebration. The parable names an ordinary kind of refusal alongside more obvious resistance.
Good responsibilities can fill every available space. Receiving God's invitation involves giving him actual attention within that life. We need room to hear and respond rather than assuming that another day will make room for us.
Choose a small, realistic period for prayer or Scripture and protect it as you would another meaningful appointment. Let it be a response to God's welcome, not a performance to add to an already crowded list.
Ponder: What ordinary activity consistently absorbs the attention I intended to give God?
Practice: Set aside ten undistracted minutes today to read, pray, and respond to one thing you hear.
Remember Whose Life This Is
Scripture: Matthew 22:15–22.
Jesus asks whose image appears on the tax coin. His answer acknowledges what belongs to Caesar and then directs attention to what belongs to God. The conversation refuses to leave God outside ordinary obligations.
We have responsibilities in households, workplaces, and communities. Following Jesus means carrying them within our larger allegiance to God. Integrity cannot be reserved for one part of the week.
Consider a routine decision involving time, money, or honesty. Ask whether your way of handling it fits the God you worship. A small adjustment can make your allegiance visible where it is usually assumed.
Ponder: Where have I treated an ordinary responsibility as unrelated to my life with God?
Practice: Carry out one routine obligation today with deliberate honesty and care.
Give Your Neighbor the Consideration You Want
Scripture: Matthew 22:34–40.
Jesus joins love for God with love for the neighbor as oneself. The second command gives love a nearby, human focus. Someone else's needs deserve the kind of consideration we naturally seek for our own.
This does not require guessing what a person wants. It can begin by listening, asking, and considering how a choice affects them. Love becomes clearer when the neighbor has a name and a voice.
Before making a shared decision, imagine receiving its consequences from the other person's side. Then ask what would be fair, truthful, and helpful for both of you.
Ponder: Whose perspective would change the decision I am about to make?
Practice: Ask one affected person for their view before finalizing a shared plan.
Carry This with You
Give God real attention and your neighbor real consideration.
Prayer: Lord, help me receive your invitation with a willing heart. Bring my ordinary responsibilities under your love, and teach me to care for the person beside me. Amen.
